I have designed a mentorship program based on my experience as a new yoga teacher, and the support I needed at the time. There is a large emphasis placed on personal practice, as I noticed when I started teaching this was the hardest thing to maintain. As a teacher, your personal practice is a well of knowledge, and as a student, it is an anchor to return to and grow from.
The program runs for 6 weeks. Each week includes:
~ A PDF discussing the focus of the week
~ A sequence for your home practice
~ A session (Skype or in person)
The topics we will explore are voice, sequencing and theming, cueing and assists, Philosophy (choice of text), Yin, Filling your personal practice cup.

"Although she is far too modest to say it, Demelza is a unique, exceptional individual. She has the rare ability of creating a genuinely nurturing environment in class, making newcomers feel instantly at home beside her regulars; the numbers who come religiously to her vinyasa and yin classes speak volumes to her richly deserved popularity.
Demelza is empathetic and empowering as a teacher and a person, and has been a massively positive influence on me; I have no doubt that I will continue to draw upon her guidance and support for many years to come, both on and off the mat"
Dr. Frazer McGlinchey
"I started yoga to complement my kickboxing, initially simply for flexibility. Dem not only introduced me to the physical aspect of yoga in its many forms and took a personal interest in my development but also encouraged me to embrace the spiritual side which helped me cope with the mental strain of a stressful job. The biggest compliment I can give her is that since moving to London and having to give it up for a while, I can now see the holistic benefit of yoga and how fantastic a teacher she really is"
Robbie Alexander, Assistant Head Teacher
"As long-distance runner, "going to yoga" is an important part of my training: it develops "core strength" and helps to keep me injury free. Demelza's classes are great for this, but they also offer much more. By practicing yoga with her regularly, I have developed a much greater understanding of my body. Demelza has a unique style of guiding her classes. There is a seriousness but there's also joyfulness. She has an acute attention to detail but always gives freedom to explore. Even in the classes that are the most physically and mentally demanding (hot vinyasa!) there's always some laughter"
Tom, PHD student, long distance runner
"As an experienced Pilates and yoga teacher myself, I am always searching for great classes to experience . Over the past year I have been Demelza’s Yoga student. Demelza has an inbuilt flair and passion for teaching. Her playful approach and creativity kept me returning to class. Demelza clearly puts a lot of time and energy into designing flowing sequences which progress naturally. Demelza has a warm and friendly personality. Students of all capabilities and ages attend her classes. She is mindful to adapt asanas when appropriate whilst maintaining a connection with the group as a whole. Demelza has a real talent for verbal cues and would make a sparkling asset to any Yoga studio"
Gill, Yoga & Pilates teacher
"My daughter and I have loved Demelza’s yoga classes. It is easy to like Demelza and her passion for yoga, and its many facets, is infectious. She has inspired us to think about different aspects of our practice each time and encourages mindfulness and patience and this has benefited us greatly. I think Demelza is gifted and she will be sorely missed"
Yvonne, Accountant & Mother
"Unpretentious and with warmth and passion, Demelza has made yoga important in my life. Coming from an ultra-running background I was the student who saw yoga as just a way to stretch stiff legs. But her classes have helped me in so many other ways. I have developed my core strength, so much so I now drop a cross training sessions each week in favour of Demelza's power vinyasa session. I have learned to heal in a deeper way through the focus of yoga as a moving meditation, which I find easier to embrace thanks to her thoughtfulness and preparation which is obvious in each class. And, I always leave my mat feeling uplifted and more inspired - for running and in life - then when I arrive."
Giles Ruck, Ultra runner
